The korowai is presented by the Puanga committee to a different person every year and past recipients include Dr Ruakere Hond, Pue “Barry” Whakaruru and Raymond kaiki. This year however it was presented to the Festivals founder
Fierce competitions raged on from Thursday until Friday afternoon for the under 13’s kapahaka competitions, see the results here
This year boasted over 70 contestants for the Tūtū Kā’ika Te Reo competition, needless to say it was a huge success and proved very popular with W’anau. Participants ranged from under 13″s to Open Seniors.
Talent from across the Taranaki region came together at the Taranaki Puanga Festival. The entertainment was amazing and spirits were lifted as the performers took the stage.
Our Puanga Poster competition was delightful, the children of Manukorihi Intermediate School are bursting with talent – See the poster winner of the $200 prize money for 2014!
