Kapahaka is our Passion
Suitable for all levels of experienceTūtū Kā’ika are a w'anau first and we love raising people up from novice performers to professionals in Māori Performing arts. Competitive and non competitive teams, for children, teens, adults and elderly (Kaumatua/Kuia) and for those who just want to soak up the atmosphere. If you are not interested in performing and would like to see what kapahaka is all about, we always appreciate an extra pair of hands to help with team training, preparation and wananga (Children of all ages are welcome). We provide exposure to a range of Māori Performing arts and Kapahaka styles, vocal training, instruments, weapons, hand-action, choreography and more.
Tūtū Kā’ika are able to provide ample opportunities for Roopu and individual performers to build confidence and eventually get out on stage to put your training to use. Kapahaka is not just singing and dancing, it is an opportunity to meet like minded people, forge new relationships, immerse yourself in Te reo and tikanga Māori in a safe and friendly environment.
