We are continuing the Te Reo initiative that was started in 2008, 2009, 2010, and was a great success. Run along side the annual Puanga Festival.
Te Huringa Rumaki Reo Sponsorship by Tūtū Kā’ika and Te Roopu Puukaka Kapahaka Society for all the Taranaki Mokopuna attending Finlayson Park School.
Te Reo Maori competition boasted $500 in Prizes,over $800 in Greenstone taonga & Priceless Taonga for those who received placings on the 2014 Tūtū Kā’ika Te Reo Stage
An acknowledgment to one of our junior members Gabriel Tongaawhikau for receiving the honor of James Cook High School head boy. Through dedication and hard work demonstrates that you can have a balanced life that includes all things Maori, competitive kapahaka, education and maintaining your own health and well-being.
We truly appreciate all the efforts of our kaimahi, from parents, teachers, volunteers, student and every other role that was filled by the committed people of the wider Taranaki community.
This year boasted over 70 contestants for the Tūtū Kā’ika Te Reo competition, needless to say it was a huge success and proved very popular with W’anau. Participants ranged from under 13″s to Open Seniors.
A big thank you to the Taranaki District Health Board for not only improving our lives through health care & knowledge, but also by supporting our annual community event.
Taranaki Puanga Festival 2015 to be held on the 29th, 30th and 31st of October 2015 at the Waitara War Memorial Hall, Entry fee at the door is a gold coin donation for a day pass.
